Greetings from Hungary

Postitus Postitas pjani - sierracorner » 08 Juun 2008, 23:16

Hello there to all estonian Sierra fans!

It's always good to see that there's a growing community of Sierra lovers in various parts of the world, but was a bit strange to read the articles I wrote years ago in estonian language... :mrgreen: even more that I didn't know about your site exists! Just found it on the net yesterday from an FSOC link (what I'm trying to say, an email to us would have been appreciated when you've decided to copy almost everything :idea: )
But thanks for the link pointing to our site!

How's going in estonia btw, are there many cars in your community? Any special or tuned models?

see you, keep up good (or even better!) work! :wink:

:oops: I translated your text and thought that maybe if I point out the original source would by enough. After all it was rough translation which was only as temporary solution until I make proper text including material from other sources, but as always temporary stuff is what last longest :D
I admit that I should have send you guys a email but at first I said myself that later, and later I didn't have your working address, so I thought that your page isn't up anymore. lazy as I am I didn't use search also

As for special cars our user sepik has cosworth sierra and user xr4 has ofcorse XR4i :D and estex makes 24v conversion using cosworth bob engine. Ofcorse there are some more interesting sierras but they can tell themselves about their cars.

Great to have you here as well

So it goes mate :wink: You can keep it anyway (if you like!), our site doesn't contain the english part anymore, and to be honest, most of the pictures are downloaded from the net, so I did some copy as well :oops: Only the texts were self made.
The point is that if you write a mail earlier, that would have been a good opportunity for the hungarian and estonian fans to communicate with each other! But now that's also sorted :)

Good to hear, looking forward for them to check in! Are there any pics? (I can hardly find them on the site...)
And what about yours?

(and a technical question at last, why don't you allow more than 3 smiles in one post??)

greets

about smiles in one post: it really started bugger my when some user used only smiles for communicating, good thin is i can say how many smiles are allowed, but the bad thing is that it counts also thouse wich are in quote.
My car is recular 2,0 dohc hatchback from year 1991. What i have done for it is recaro front seats, vauxhall injectors, removed the airflow limiter and i'm about to install cone filter, my car has also from factory an lsd with drum brakes. It also has custom made front bumper and side skirts (wich are used only in summer beacause they are too low. Under the front bumper i can but sigaret box standing when i use a bit force) Currently they are not used because front bumper needs some repair. I also have rear bumber add on and xr4i rear spoiler but they also are not on. My Sierra also has Borbed A alloys 15*7"

nice cars you have there! :wink:
yours look a bit too low.... but the custom spoilers are nice work.
Why did you put in GM injectors, are you using custom management? Did you notice any change?

Here's mine, if interested :)

Yes I did notis change :D but only when I try burning tires. It's easyer now. And on the road, outsaide the city, there is now problem still getting 7l/100km. (and I had 4 people on board and trunk full of stuff. Car was so heavy that exhaust hitted the ground from time to time :lol: )
according to picture, your car should be 2,0l dohc XR4. Nice car. And we also have concrete airfields like this ;)

thank you, we will keep them, at least for now ;)

Late last year we registered our club as non profitable union, and name of this union is Ford Sierra Klubi
We decided to meet every month and as part of meeting to do different stuff. In january since it was too warm we didn't do anything, but original plan was to have track day on ice. In february was our winter meeting on bigest island in Estonia called Saaremaa. No track day there but sauna was good :) . In march we had study day about car audio. In Aprilit was planned again track day, but since the organizator had too much other stuff to do then we postponed it. In may we helped clean Estonia from trash that idiots have carried in the nature. This month we have planned sportsday. It should by like decathlon, but with different sierra parts :D

Hi Pjani, it is great you happened to visit our forum!
Despite to the fact that we have less and less Sierras rolling on our streets every day, fortunately there still are some fans to keep them alive.
Here is my sweetie: ´92 2.0 DOHC
Lowered with Koni shocks, Recaro seats, front and back strutbars, disc brakes at rear and a bit more here and there. On the looks the purpose was to maintain original look, so no spoilers needed.

Re: Greetings from Hungary

Postitus Postitas pjani - sierracorner » 09 Juun 2008, 20:28

Hi again!

Tarmo, thanks! :wink:
I own this car for 4 years now, but have the same licanse plate since 2001 (it's difficult to bring in a car from abroad in hungary, costs a lot, and you can hardly find a sierra in good condition in our country sadly...), it took a lot of time to get all the parts, and do all the work, but now I'm satisfied with it. I plan to go for custom management and turbo in the near future, like VEMS or megasquirt or sthing. Also plan to put a cosworth kit on this summer.

About our club, it was founded in 2002, and we have the site since 2003, so it's getting a pretty old community now... we have connections from czech, slovakia and romania as well, and there was a time when we planned to got to visit the polish guys, but one of our "leaders" had a coma for 2 months, so we could'nt manage to go. Usually we have 3 big meeting in a year, we do them commonly with the hungarian capri club, the taunus club, and the Ford club of hungary, so there are pretty much people are gathering from time to time. The biggest meeting is in usually late may, called the "Ford Fair" (of course in hungarian :lol: ), it was the third time we made that meeting and there were almost 400 cars with 42 sierras on it! (the picture from my car was also made there). Our next meeting will be on the 4th of July (like in the soundgarden track, if somebody remembers :lol: ), we plan to organize a small olimpycs, with a swimming pool opened just for us all night long! So I'm really looking forward to it. And of course we organize drifting as well on every meeting.

Here are some videos, enjoy!

The hungarian ford fair from the taunus owners pow:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjQS8kQHSMI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Same, but one year later and with professional cut:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJAnifmPADw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And this years meeting, from the son of a member of ours:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to8jmJG1ZMw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtwzDuEH ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36Vyo9gl ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The next meeting we'll have:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxYfu-UzeJ8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you don't really have any ideas what to do in the beginning of july, feel yourself invited!!!

Hi Kersti!!!

Nice CLX you have there! I like the thinking of yours, not putting too much on looks, but mechanically it sounds.! Just like mine!
Also in hungary there are less and less from these cars, there are very stricted laws for a year or so, most of them didn't manage to get MOT, the prices have fallen, and the 70% of hungarian Sierras went to scrapyard... in one side it's bad, because there are less of them, but one the other side it's good because it's getting rare, and only the good condition ones will be kept.

wouldn't forget you guys :). Do you have many 4*4 sierras in Hungary? Here they are quite rare. And also rare in Estonia is Sierra without sunroof.
